CAT Competition -

Computational and Algorithmic Thinking

The Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) Competition is designed to develop students’ problem-solving skills through algorithmic thinking. Students are encouraged to analyse problems, design logical steps, and apply systematic approaches to reach solutions.

The CAT competition features a unique three-stage task structure that guides students to gradually develop algorithmic thinking. Students learn to design informal algorithms and apply them to test data of increasing size and complexity.

CAT requires no prior programming experience. It is suitable for students who are interested in mathematics, logical reasoning, and computer science. By participating in the CAT competition, students can develop computational thinking and build a strong foundation for future programming and computer science studies.
